V-MAC III essentially covers all Mack engines produced from 1998 to around 2004, give or take a year or two. It was with the emissions required by the EPA in 2004 that they began moving away from V-MAC III. Mack now refers to these trucks as “Mack Legacy” vehicles.
FEATURES:
1. Compatibility with VECU 1MS379 or V-MAC III software.
2. Service diagnostics:
a. Added capability to recognize a dual throttle vehicle and provide the ability to calibrate both pedals (requires 1MS379 VECU product software).
b. Vehicle data log display: For VECU 1MS379, the following values have been added to the vehicle data log screen:
• Maximum vehicle overspeed
• Maximum engine overspeed company threshold
• Maximum engine severe overspeed
• Severe engine overspeed occurrences
• Maximum engine speed
• Maximum vehicle speed
• Fan clutch cycles
3. Customer data programming:
a. Added a coolant fan on/off temperature disconnect threshold to the engine. ECU programmable parameters.
If the fan on/off activation temperature threshold is changed and the difference between the new engage temperature and the disengage temperature is less than 10°F, then the disconnect threshold will automatically be shown as 10°F lower than the activation temperature. The disconnect value can be modified, but a 10°F difference will be applied.
b. Fields for parameters that apply only to the on/off fan and are enabled only when the ON/OFF fan is selected:
• Fan coolant disconnect temperature threshold
• Fan coolant activation temperature threshold
• Fan air activation temperature threshold
• Air conditioning override time
c. Changes in parameter range:
• On/off fan coolant disconnect temperature threshold range 193 - 200°F
• On/off fan coolant activation temperature threshold range 203 - 210°F
• Air conditioning override time range 30 - 300 seconds
d. Road speed limit resolution was modified to show and allow speed input to the tenth of a MPH.
